Our heartfelt thanks go out to CHAT's students & staff, and members of the community who contributed monetarily and extended hospitality to the out-of-town guests participating in the Israel Becker Basketball Tournament and Shabbaton. This very special event that your combined efforts produce, contains all the things Israel loved: his religion, his community, friendships, sports and lots of fun! What a Wonderful Tribute To His Memory! Yasher Koach to you all!

2008 Tournament

For only the second time, we are excited to announce that the tournament will be held at new gym facilities at the Kimel Centre, as well as at The TanenbaumCHAT Wallenberg Campus. The community is invited to come and watch the games. Final games will be held at the Kimel Centre on Sunday December 14th, starting at noon.Hosting the players will be the families from the local community around the BAYT area. The Tournament was established by the friends of Israel Becker, a former TanenbaumCHAT student who loved the game, as a memorial. Becker lost his life in a tragic car accident some years ago. TanenbaumCHAT students are socommitted to the preservation of this tournament, that a few years ago, when it was revealed that there would be a budget shortfall and the tournament itself was in jeopardy, they committed to raising the necessary money to guarantee its continuity. The TanenbaumCHAT students are grateful for the community-wide outpouring of support that resulted. There is no charge to attend the games.
